Marta Montenegro wasn’t born a fitness enthusiast, but she has always had a keen eye for business. As she discovered the world of sports and exercise, Marta became passionate about testing her strength and motivating others to be healthy.
Marta’s diverse background includes tenure with the Venezuelan newspaper Diario La Verdad, and a position as assistant to the Press Chief at the Venezuelan Embassy in Washington, D.C. Entrepreneurial ambitions led her to open a wellness center in Venezuela specializing in one-on-one personal training, providing customized programs for people with special medical conditions.
Marta holds two master’s degrees — one in Finance and one in Exercise Physiology — and is a certified fitness trainer and strength and conditioning coach. One of her specialties is fusing dietary guidelines, medicine and fitness to design customized wellness plans for patients with specific medical challenges.
Marta is also an Adjunct Professor of Exercise Physiology at Florida International University, and has authored a book titled Forget Dieting! Exercise and Learn to Eat. She has frequently contributed to both local and national media outlets, including well-known networks ABC, CBS, CNN, NBC and Univision.
